Our Weakness, God’s Strength

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

When the idea for this book was born, I figured I’d had enough trials to make my authorship credible. Apparently, I was wrong. Seems I had to live a crisis while writing about finding hope in crisis.

First, the pandemic struck and my city became a hot spot with hefty restrictions. Then I cracked my tailbone. Minimizing pain while writing meant rotating between standing for hours and sitting on an O-cushion. Then a shoulder injury flared, and pain kept me from sleeping more than three hours at night.

To say I felt weak is a gross understatement, but that weakness forced me to rely on God. It became the portal through which his power brought this book into being.

Humanity often considers weakness a hindrance, but it’s a blessing in disguise. It removes our self-reliance and provides an opportunity to experience God’s power in new ways.
