Labeled - He Holds My Hand

Labeled

It is incomprehensible grace to be a prodigal who is held by God again.

Angela Thomas

It’s been hard for you to look in My direction recently. You’ve made some bad choices that have brought Me sorrow. You’ve labeled yourself a total failure, and you feel unworthy of My love. The problem started with small decisions, but the temptation to seek an easier, more exhilarating life was like a magnet, tugging harder and harder until you made a mad dash for what looked like a more enjoyable and far less restricted pathway.

Now you know it was a devastating mistake, and you want to come back. But every time you see your reflection in the mirror, there are words covering your face: Loser. Failure. Unfaithful. Unworthy. Too Far Gone. Unwanted. Unloved. Those labels are self-inflicted, not God-imposed. If you confess your sin, turn away from it, and come back to Me, I’ll give you new labels: Forgiven. Loved. Wanted. Worthy. Desired. It’s up to you to decide. You can keep hurrying away, or you can come back to Me. I’m already at the door, arms open wide, waiting to welcome you home. A gift of grace awaits you there.

His son said to him, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son.” But his father said to the servants, “Quick! Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet. And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast, for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.” So the party began.
