Mind Matters - He Holds My Hand

Mind Matters

The secret of living a life of excellence is merely a matter of thinking thoughts of excellence. Really, it’s a matter of programming our minds with the kind of information that will set us free.

Charles Swindoll

What occupies your mind? What’s the first thing you think about in the morning and the last thing you reflect on at night? My Word says, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7, NKJV). Practice the habit of focusing on things that are honest, just, pure, lovely, and worthy of praise. Nourish a godly mind by meditating on biblical truth. Make a commitment to Me: “I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways” (Psalm 119:15). As you read the Scriptures, make a list of My promises. Intentionally fill your mind with thoughts that are excellent.

When you establish the daily exercise of transformed thinking, the people around you will notice a change in the way you think and live. It takes discipline, along with a heart that’s intent on purity. “Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all” (1 Timothy 4:15, NKJV). Altered thinking doesn’t happen without My help. Ask Me to give you the courage, willpower, and resolution to follow through with pure thoughts.

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
