Rain Of Grace - He Holds My Hand

Rain Of Grace

When we lay the soil of our hard lives open to the rain of grace and let joy penetrate our cracked and dry places, let joy soak into our broken skin and deep crevices, life grows.

Ann Voskamp

Lift up your face and look at Me. “Let me see your face; let me hear your voice. For your voice is pleasant, and your face is lovely” (Song of Songs 2:14). I love to spend time with you. Throughout the day, watch for My unexpected blessings, opportunities, and interruptions. Dare to pray, “Lord, rain Your grace on me.” Expect to be surprised by My personal involvement in small and large things. Learn to delight in the beauty of a flower, the majesty of a tree, the notes of a songbird, and the utter magnificence of a newborn baby.

I’m raining grace all around you, so much so that you may not be able to recognize or appreciate all of it at once. Beware of becoming numb to the glory of My creation or to the innumerable splashes of joy all around you. Sometimes you think mercy is only My forgiveness for your big mistakes. However, My mercy is everywhere—it’s in the air you breathe; it’s in the kindness of a friend; it’s in the comfort you found in a sermon; and it’s in the death and resurrection of My Son. Look up again. Envision grace, like rain, falling on you—soaking you with the awareness of My goodness, My forgiveness, My delight in you, and My joy in spending time with you. Linger in My presence before rushing into your day.

Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us.
