Strength - He Holds My Hand

Strength

God uses chronic pain and weakness, along with other afflictions, as his chisel for sculpting our lives. Felt weakness deepens dependence on Christ for strength each day. The weaker we feel, the harder we lean. And the harder we lean, the stronger we grow spiritually.

J. I. Packer

You are stronger than you think because you belong to Me. On the surface, you feel weak, unable to cope, filled with apprehension, and uncertain about how to make important choices. You face decisions that won’t wait until the road you’re traveling has smoothed out. There’s a mystery about the way I work that I long for you to understand: When you feel powerless and doubt your ability to handle simple decision making, that’s when you can hang your weakness on My strength.

Pause and understand the mystery of My strength in your weakness. When you are at your lowest ebb, you’re more inclined to surrender your will to Me because you know you can’t survive without My help. The moment you admit, “I can’t make it on my own. I’m hanging on to You, God; You’re all I have,” that’s when My power works best on your behalf. Develop a daily habit of speaking this verse aloud: I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
