Doubtful

Doubtful

Life batters us at times. We can be banged around and buffeted by the ever-present winds of life—job changes (whether we want them or not), the frailty of our health or the health of our loved ones, rejection by friends, or another failed attempt on our part to do something we have long wanted to do.

Perhaps you’ve been fortunate and haven’t experienced doubt in a while, though I doubt it. It hits us all on a regular basis, and it can be devastating when it hits—causing us to lose not only focus, but hope. The devil uses doubt to get us off track, to sap us of our energy for the day. When it comes, it rocks our world. That certainly has happened to me in my life.

But then Jesus comes to us to keep those doubts from taking firm root. He calls us to faith, to a belief that in the end, even when it doesn’t always seem like it, we will prevail, we will win with Him.

Live as doubt-free as you can. And when doubts start to gather, honestly admit them to God.

His Promises

Blessed are those who believe without seeing me.

John 20:29

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone.

James 1:5-6

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.

2 Timothy 4:7
