Pit Stop

Life sometimes seems to be an obstacle course. How we face each dip that must be straddled, each curve that must be managed, each barrier that must be jumped will indeed determine the outcome of the race. There is rarely a reprieve, and we always have to be on the alert so that our souls stay in the place of peace and hope.

We want to always go to the place where the truth is, where God’s presence is, giving us guidance and hope. Struggling through difficulties is normal, and we will still sometimes feel weariness, frustration, fear, and hopelessness right in the midst of feeling joy, deep appreciation, and love. But we must continue persistently looking for His treasures of encouragement and truth.

Make seeking God a daily priority. Set aside a time when no one will talk to you or disturb your reverie. Light candles, brew a cup of tea, and enter into the presence of the Lord. Sit for a few minutes and take in the peace of being quiet and still. If you struggle to calm your soul and instead stew and fret, try to gather your wits, spend time in His Word, and dig for new truth and knowledge. He is the one Friend to whom you can go every day. Without Him, there is no solution. Without His help and strength, there is no peace.

His Promises

But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.

Be still, and know that I am God!

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
