When a believer prays, he is not alone—there are three with him: the Father seeing in secret, His ear open; the Son blotting out sin, and offering up the prayer; the Holy Ghost quickening and giving desires.

Pray About It: True prayer involves all three parts of the Godhead—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each has his place in prayer, without which prayer cannot happen. In prayer we pray to the Father, in the name of the Son by whom we have access, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Some Christians pray to the Holy Spirit, and yet nowhere is this found in the New Testament. How can you pray to One who lives in you? Nor is praying to the Holy Spirit found after the Day of Pentecost. The early church had the attitude of welcome to the Holy Spirit, rather than that of invocation.
Today, acknowledge the presence and purpose of all three aspects of the Trinity and their role in prayer.
When the Spirit takes possession of the soul, He becomes essentially the Spirit of intercession and the heart is drawn out in earnest prayer, the Spirit helping our many weaknesses.
