Carnal reason is an enemy to faith: it is ever crossing and contradicting it. It will never be well with thee, Christian, so long as thou art swayed by carnal reason, and you rely more upon your five senses, than upon the four gospels. As the body lives by breathing, so the soul lives by believing.

Pray About It: Beware of allowing natural reason to assault your faith. The things for which we pray are very often unreasonable, unfathomable to the natural human eye. But no matter, to God all things are possible.
In truth, prayer is compatible with reason—God’s reason. Submit to His divine reason and allow your own reason to exercise itself only on earthly matters, not heavenly.
Prayer is simple, prayer is supernatural, and to anyone not related to our Lord Jesus Christ, prayer is apt to look stupid.
