Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

I am so convinced that [our work as Christians] is God’s work that nothing from without can by any means harm it, but you must stay very close together and at the foot of the cross, where there is none of self but all of Christ.
You can harm it if you allow disunity among yourselves, looking after your own personal interests and failing to be true to the vision God has given us. Read often Psalm 133…Have fervent love among yourselves. Pray for fresh baptisms of love. Disunity cannot live in an atmosphere of love.

Pray About It: When we read the gospel accounts of Christ’s life, we notice that He prayed often. Although we don’t know everything He prayed for, we can surmise that if Jesus prayed for it, it must have been important.
One occasion where we’re privy to the content of Jesus’ prayer is in John 17 where Jesus prays for His disciples, both those present then and those to come in centuries ahead. His prayer was for them, and for us, to be “one.” To be in unity. The work of God goes forward when there is unity among believers. Strife, on the other hand, is the result of disunity in the body of Christ and it always stops God’s work cold.
Has Jesus’ prayer gone unanswered? Not for those who know that the place where unity can be found is at the Cross. It’s there that all self, all strife, all division vanishes.
Center your prayer today on the Cross and the unity to be found there with all other Christians—past, present, and future. God will command the blessing.
Believers who live in love and peace, shall have the God of love and peace with them now, and they shall shortly be with him forever, in the world of endless love and peace. May all who love the Lord forbear and forgive one another, as God, for Christ’s sake, hath forgiven them.
