Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.

This prayer stands as the climax of Christian aspiration. It is the final prayer of the Bible. The whole revelation of the Book leads up to this. Brethren, we should pray for the coming of God’s king, Jesus.

Pray About It: There’s coming a day that will be the last day. The Lord Jesus Christ shall return as the climax of history occurs. The early Christians watched for that day, expecting it in their lifetime. Many generations since then have also assumed theirs was the last. And one day, one of those generations will be right. Perhaps it will be ours. The book of Revelation records the prayer that that day should come soon. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
Follow the example of previous generations and make that your prayer today, remembering the words of John Nelson Darby:
To me the Lord’s coming is not a question of prophecy, but my present hope…There is no event between me and heaven.
