Magnificent Prayer #201
Magnificent Prayer #201
I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry.
John 6:35
When a man is born from above, the life of the Son of God is born in him, and he can either starve that life or nourish it. Prayer is the way the life of God is nourished. Our ordinary views of prayer are not found in the New Testament. We look upon prayer as a means of getting things for ourselves; the Bible idea of prayer is that we may get to know God Himself.

Pray About It: Are you hungry today? Then eat heartily through prayer. Our Lord Jesus is our bread, our sustenance, our nourishment. When we fail to eat of Him, we grow spiritually weak. Sometimes we don’t willfully neglect to feed on Him, we just get busy. But just as physical hunger pangs tell us it’s time to eat food, so too does God allow spiritual hunger pangs to draw us to Him.
Eat heartily today. Be nourished by the bread of life.
My spirit is dry within me because it forgets to feed on thee.
JOHN OF THE CROSS
