Magnificent Prayer #207
For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.
1 Timothy 4:5
Wherever there is true prayer, there thanksgiving and gratitude stand hard by, ready to respond to the answer when it comes. For as prayer brings the answer, so the answer brings forth gratitude and praise. As prayer sets God to work, so answered prayer sets thanksgiving to work. Thanksgiving follows answered prayer just as day succeeds night.
True prayer and gratitude lead to full consecration, and consecration leads to more praying and better praying. A consecrated life is both a prayer life and a thanksgiving life.

Pray About It: Today is a day to give thanks. Surely there have been many answers to prayer for which you can return thanks today. Even if it’s your habit to thank God daily, dedicate today as a special time of gratitude.
We should never forget to return thanks for blessings already granted. If any one of us would stop and think how many of the prayers which we’ve offered to God have been answered, and how seldom we have gone back to God to return thanks for the answers, I’m sure we would be overwhelmed. We should be just as definite in returning thanks as we are in prayer. Often our thanks to Him is indefinite and general.
