The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon.
Psalm 92:12
Strength will not come to us without our going deep to find it. A few hasty and lazy prayers will never bring it into us. We need deep communion with Christ if we are to get it at all. There is no part of a tree so invisible as its roots: but none more essential to its growth and fruitfulness: and just as the visible condition of the tree is an unfailing index of what the unseen roots are doing, our visible lives will soon tell whether or not our invisible roots are going deep: for dryness below ground soon means deadness above ground.

Pray About It: When you are at prayer, you’re sending down roots. If your prayer is shallow, your roots will be shallow and during the storm, you will be uprooted. But if, as you pray, you allow your roots to sink deep, you will have the strength of an oak during the storm.
As you pray today, may your roots penetrate the soil deeply.
God is telling us, “Try to measure the growth of the cedar tree. Camp under it for a month, and tell me how far you see it grow. Even after six months, you probably won’t notice any growth. Yet that tree is putting down deep roots! You see, I water the tree with my rain. And any tree that’s watered properly is going to grow. Yet such growth is not discernible to the human eye. It grows, but in secret!”
