Magnificent Prayer #28
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Ephesians 5:15–16 NKJV
We must find time to pray. If we wait until we are at leisure to pray, we will never have the opportunity to do so. All who desire to do intercessory work or to make progress in prayer life must “make” the time by setting aside a period for prayer. Let us guard this period and hold fast to it. Let us beseech God to give us the time to pray. We must pray the prayer of protection for our prayer time. Pray that the period of prayer may not be lost. For with any such loss we will pray no more.

Pray About It: At some time or another we all try to keep track of where our money goes. We put ourselves on budgets, we watch for sales when shopping, and we cut expenses where we can. And often the first cuts are made from the money that we would give God.
So too, many of us find our time slips away as quickly as our money. And when our time is tight, what usually gets cut out of the budget first? Very often it’s our time with God. What a mistake this is.
Financially, we quickly learn that it’s not wise to forget to give to God a portion of our income. When we put Him first financially, we will never be short of money. Similarly, if we’re faithful to God with our time, He will multiply our hours, just as He did the loaves and fishes given to Jesus.
Let all else go today, but not your prayer time. Guard it zealously. And give Him the firstfruits of your time, not the leftovers.
When asked what his plans were for the next day, Martin Luther replied, “Work, work from early until late. In fact, I have so much to be done that I shall spend the first three hours in prayer.”
