Magnificent Prayer #58
Magnificent Prayer #58
Those who honor me I will honor.
1 Samuel 2:30
Take obedience with you into your time of prayer and meditation, for you will know as much of God, and only as much of God, as you are willing to put into practice. There is a great deal of truth in the hymn “Trust and Obey.”
ERIC LIDDELL
Pray About It: Not too many people remembered the name Eric Liddell—that is until Hollywood made a movie of his life called Chariots of Fire. Mr. Liddell prayed much, but he also followed up his prayers with obedience. With his talent and love of running, he was asked to run on a Sunday, which to him was wrong. He stood in faith by what he believed and God honored him. Who can forget the passing of the note to Liddell with the simple words from 1 Samuel, “He who honors me, I will honor.”
Liddell went on to serve as a missionary and died at age 42 in China. Wouldn’t he be amazed at the turn of events that made him famous so many years after his death?
Honor God and He will honor you.
When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His Word
What a glory He shed on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
