Magnificent Prayer #93
“Present your case,” says the Lord. “Bring forth your strong reasons,” says the King of Jacob.
Isaiah 41:21 NKJV
It is possible that some who read these words may have a complaint against God. A controversy of long standing has come between your soul and His grace. If you were to utter the word that is trembling on your lips, you would say to him, “Why hast Thou dealt thus with me?” Then dare to say, with reverence and with boldness, all that is in your heart. Carry your grievance into the light of His countenance; charge your complaint home. Then listen to His answer. For surely, in gentleness and truth, He will clear Himself of the charge of unkindness that you bring against Him. And in His light you shall see light. But, remember, that this is a private matter between you and your Lord, and you must not defame Him to any one.

Pray About It: Honesty with God is essential in the life of a pray-er. God knows your anger, your confusion, your questions about how He’s arranged the circumstances of your life. Now is the time to open up to God and spread your case before Him. He can take it, my friend. God will listen to all you have to say—the bad and the good.
David, a man after God’s heart, questioned God’s actions. Jesus asked why His Father had forsaken Him. Jonah was bitter when God called him to preach to Nineveh. Job, the most righteous man in the land, was devastated by his losses. The list goes on. Men and women who love God are often put through trials that try their very souls. God knows, watches, and understands. It’s no sin to lay out your case before God.
Pray from your heart—no matter what’s there.
Honest dealing becomes us, when we kneel in His pure presence.
