Mom Heart Moments #158

The eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.

2 Chronicles 16:9

GOD PROMISES THAT He will support us, give us strength, and help us know how to take action. Because of their love and knowledge of God, many people in the Bible —including Esther, Daniel, David, Moses, Abraham, Ruth, Peter, and Mary, the mother of Jesus —displayed strength and took action in their own times. These are our models who give us hope to think that all of us, when filled with the Spirit of God, might do the same.

How do you move in the direction of receiving God’s strength?

  1. Find those who, when you are with them, cause you to want to be better and more faithful and who inspire you to walk with God. Whether in books, or in person, do what you can to be with them.
  2. Read biographies of faith-oriented people God has used. Corrie ten Boom, Brother Andrew, Amy Carmichael, Hudson Taylor, George Müller, Ben Carson, Andrew Carnegie, Mother Teresa, Jim Elliot —there are so many who are inspiring because they were moved to take action in their generations.
  3. To know God, you must invest in His Word and prayer. You could not deeply know someone with whom you never communicated. The more you are with God, the more you will reflect His influence.
  4. Regularly get away by yourself and observe the details of your life. What is draining you? Where have you ceased to believe God? Is there any sin habit that is building an invisible wall between you and God? What activities are necessary, and which might be dropped?

How will you put yourself in a position to receive more of God’s strength in this season of your life?
