Mom Heart Moments #85
Mom Heart Moments #85
We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
ONE OF OUR GREATEST RESPONSIBILITIES is to walk through the days of our lives seeking to love our King and promote His Kingdom. One of the primary ways we do this is in teaching our children and modeling for them what it means to be a devoted servant of the King. We show them what it means to enter into the battle, to be willing to serve and give of ourselves. We are the ones who paint them a picture of the great battle, the great King, and their parts in fighting for redemption.
God has designed all of us with the purpose of being a part of His redemptive Kingdom work. Our children’s hearts long to be a part of a great cause. Serving God is not about knowing all the right rules and keeping them; it is about joining God in His plans to reach the world. Mothers can cultivate compassion for a lost world in the hearts of their children and show them how they can practically be a part of God’s Kingdom work.
In the secular world, everyone’s attention is turned on who is the most famous or powerful or has the biggest salary. By the world’s standards, the call is not to service in the fight for redemption; it is to self-protection and self-fulfillment.
But from God’s point of view, history is the account of human souls joining into the battle for the righteous Kingdom. Each of us is given a unique opportunity to live out a story in which we employ the moments, money, talents, and relationships of our lives to promote the priorities that are on the heart of the King, the Lord Jesus.
As you consider your life and the life of your family, what “work” has God given you a heart for? In which areas does your family have compassion to invest in the lives of others?
