Romans 3:22

We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

When Paul wrote the book of Romans, there was major tension in the church between the Jews and the Gentiles—those from the nations. The Jews were God’s chosen people and treated the Gentiles as spiritually unworthy. However, one of Paul’s missions was to bring the message of salvation to all people and unite both groups through their faith in Jesus. The theme of exclusivity still exists in the church today. Some people are not welcomed based on their appearance, race, or socioeconomic status. Do these tensions exist within your church? How about within your own heart? Think about Paul’s words—we are all reconciled to God when we place our faith in Jesus Christ.
