Miscarriage - Prayers for Every Occasion

FATHER, you know how very sad I feel today. I learned that a friend who was four months pregnant lost her baby. When I heard my friend’s grievous news, my knees buckled and my heart ached. It’s dawning on me that instead of my friend having a baby to lovingly cuddle in her arms, she has a raw, aching hole in her heart.

I beg you to lavish your comfort on my friend in ways that she knows come straight from you. God, I don’t understand how your comfort works, but I know for certain that it does. You’ve comforted me before, and your presence was palpable. May my friend feel your tender presence, Lord. Though nothing will take away the pain she feels in her heart right now, please help her to realize your love as well as the love and care of family and friends. Please help those of us around her to avoid saying anything that would either downplay her pain or add to it. Help us to support her and be there for her. I pray all of this in the tender name of Jesus, amen.
