God Guides Your Steps
God Guides Your Steps
The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.
Psalm 37:23
In the movie Monsters University, Mike is the leader of an unlikely team of monsters who take part in a competition, called the Scare Games, to become the top scarers. The teams face challenges, and one team is eliminated in each competition. One of the challenges is to make it through the library and get the team flag without getting caught by the librarian. Mike guides his team through the library by telling them to do exactly what he does. They copy every move he makes, whether he plans for them to or not.
Just as Mike led his team in the library competition, God is your team leader. He wants to direct your steps so that you walk the path he has for you. When you joined God’s team, he already had a plan for your life. He gave you the talents and abilities to embark on this journey he’s planned for you. God doesn’t want you to just go through life without purpose. He wants you to run joyfully down the specially designed path he has for you.
God has a different plan for each princess, so trying to copy someone else’s steps doesn’t work. That’s why it’s important to ask God to direct your own steps each day. When you get up in the morning, ask him to show you what he wants you to do that day. As you walk down the school hallway or get ready to study at home, ask him who he wants you to talk to or encourage. Ask him to guide you when you’re with your family and when you’re with friends.
When you obey God’s Word and listen to his voice, your steps will be sure and straight, and you will be following the plan he has just for you.
Trace your foot on a piece of colored paper. Cut it out and write today’s verse on it. Put it somewhere you will see it to be a reminder to let God guide your steps each day.
