Strong To The End - The One Year Book of Bible Promises
Strong to the End
He will keep you strong to the end so that you will be free from all blame on the day when our Lord Jesus Christ returns.
1 Corinthians 1:8
SOME TIME AGO, as Ruth Graham, the late wife of Billy Graham, was dying, her family gathered around her with words of love and encouragement. They all looked back on her life and reminded her of the many great deeds she had done that influenced the world for good and for God. Do you wonder what kind of reception she had in heaven? Undoubtedly, quite a grand one.
Yet such accolades are not only for great people like Mrs. Graham. All Christians who have served God well will be rewarded in the next world for their faithfulness, but God often gives them glimpses of what they’ve done in this one. They might receive a note from a former student, a gift from a friend thanking them for their influence in his or her life, or even an accolade from their church.
However God does it, we can be sure we will arrive in heaven without blame, safe, whole, and full of joy. Paul tells us that God’s promise is to keep us “strong to the end” so that when we stand before him at the judgment seat of Christ, we will be “free from all blame.” When you made your commitment to Christ, God made a commitment to you: to see you through to the end, blameless and whole. That’s a powerful promise you should thank God for every day.
