What do I need to know about challenges and risks?

God’s Response

When you work in a quarry, stones might fall and crush you! When you chop wood, there is danger with each stroke of your ax! Such are the risks of life. Ecclesiastes 10:9

A prudent person foresees the danger ahead and takes precautions; the simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. Proverbs 22:3

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or are hungry or cold or in danger or threatened with death? Romans 8:35

The Bible says many things about risks and challenges. For example: risk is part of life; smart people try to assess and plan for risk before jumping in; risks and challenges can help you grow in character because you have to work hard to overcome obstacles while relying on the Lord; and no matter what the risk or what the challenge, nothing can separate you from God’s love.

God’s Challenge

Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor fear the dangers of the day, nor dread the plague that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Psalm 91:5-6
