Distress

Distress

When I am in trouble, how do I talk to God and know that he will hear me?

God’s Response

In my distress I cried out to the LORD; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry reached his ears. Psalm 18:6

The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. Psalm 34:17

You don’t need special words to talk to God. You can simply talk to God as you would to a trusted friend. God understands your emotions—he made them—so don’t worry about getting too emotional with God. Tell him your fears and worries, and claim his promise to rescue you from temptation and danger and to stay with you no matter what comes.

God’s Promise

When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue them and honor them. Psalm 91:15
