Prayer

Prayer

What does God want in my communication with him?

God’s Response

O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge. Psalm 62:8

Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. Colossians 4:2

Keep on praying. 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will, not mine. Luke 22:42

God honors the humble and acknowledges their prayers (1 Peter 5:6; Daniel 10:12). Humility comes when you recognize that you need God. Before you move out boldly, fall to your knees humbly. When you come to God in humility, your prayers will be more aligned with his plans for you because you will recognize God’s sovereignty. His will for your life will lead you toward what is good and right and away from sin and harm.

God’s Promise

I think how much you have helped me; I sing for joy in the shadow of your protecting wings. I follow close behind you; your strong right hand holds me securely. Psalm 63:7-8
