Sharing What You Have

Sharing What You Have

Why does God promise to meet my needs?

God’s Response

One day a man from Baal-shalishah brought the man of God [Elisha] a sack of fresh grain and twenty loaves of barley bread made from the first grain of his harvest. Elisha said, “Give it to the group of prophets so they can eat.”“What?” his servant exclaimed. “Feed one hundred people with only this?”But Elisha repeated, “Give it to the group of prophets so they can eat, for the LORD says there will be plenty for all. There will even be some left over!” And sure enough, there was plenty for all and some left over, just as the LORD had promised. 2 Kings 4:42-44

“Impossible!” they exclaimed. “We have only five loaves of bread and two fish!”“Bring them here,” [Jesus] said. Matthew 14:17-18

God gives to you so that you will be satisfied and so that you can give to others. Whether you have been richly blessed or have just enough to get by, the Lord promises that you will always have enough to share.

God’s Promise

Don’t forget to do good and to share what you have with those in need, for such sacrifices are very pleasing to God. Hebrews 13:16
