Does God have a special purpose for me?

God’s Response

Dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice —the kind he will accept. . . . Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is. Romans 12:1-2

You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. John 15:16

God has a general purpose and a specific purpose for you. If nothing else, you have been chosen by God to let the love of Jesus shine through you to make an impact on others. More specifically, God has given you spiritual gifts and wants you to use them to make a unique contribution in your sphere of influence. The more you fulfill your general purpose, the more clear your specific purpose will become.

God’s Promise

God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son. Romans 8:29
