A Good Choice
A Good Choice
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
Psalm 100:4
What are you thankful for today? Maybe you’ve had a good week. Maybe you have enough money to pay your bills. Maybe the kids behaved like angels, cleaned up the house, and paused to ask, “Mom, how are you today? May I make you a cup of tea?”
Give thanks for those blessings—even though finding something to be thankful for isn’t a condition of entering the Lord’s gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. We aren’t supposed to wait to enter until something nice has happened to us. We’re to thank Him every moment of every day!
Regardless of what is going on in our lives, thankfulness is a choice. We can decide whether or not we will enter God’s presence with a thankful heart, with gratitude based not on what is happening to us but on who God is. And He is a good God—always, in countless ways.
So, whether things are going well—or not—let’s give God thanks for every little thing we can today. Let’s choose gratitude as our attitude. Let’s honor God in everything we say, praising His holy name.
Lord, I enter Your gates with thanksgiving today, Your courts with praise. You are a worthy God, and I am so thankful for all You’ve given to me.
