God Is Trustworthy

God Is Trustworthy

Sovereign LORD, you are God! Your covenant is trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to your servant.

2 Samuel 7:28

Uncertain times can fill us with fear, but we can trust that our Father God is still trustworthy to carry us through.

If you’re like so many of us, you are receiving a constant newsfeed of updates, alerts, and posts that can make us feel anxious. News reports and projections imply that everything—the economy, the environment, terrorism, crime—is bad and growing worse. It’s overwhelming. So much, in fact, that a large part of our population requires prescription medication to combat these very emotions. The day-to-day wear of anxieties drives us to find relief—yet the more permanent cure for our hearts and souls is remembering God’s trustworthiness.

The world will always be constantly changing—but God never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).

Choose to remember the unchanging truth that God is in ultimate control of the world. When you accept what you cannot change and take responsibility for the things you can change, you will experience greater peace.

When everyday anxieties start to run you down, remember who is in charge. Your sovereign God is trustworthy, wise, and good—and He is looking out for you (Psalm 121:5).

I praise You, God, for You are sovereign, trustworthy, wise, and good. I want to build my life on that fact.
