Hide And Seek
Hide And Seek
The LORD God called to the man, “Where are you?”
Genesis 3:9
When Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the garden of Eden and ate the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, they felt ashamed. And they hid.
But God, in His great mercy, went looking for them. When Adam and Eve heard God “walking in the garden in the cool of the day, they hid” (v. 8).
Nothing has changed in thousands of years. Just like Adam and Eve, isn’t that our first instinct when we feel shame? To hide?
But just like in the garden, God comes looking for us. He calls to us. He seeks us out.
Why? Because just like with Adam and Eve, He loves us and wants to fellowship with us. He wants to break the power of shame in our lives.
Is shame part of your story? Do you feel less than? Not enough? Inadequate? Even when you can’t perceive it, God is searching for you. He’s calling you to come out of hiding and into His grace, into His unconditional acceptance. He loves you. He always has, and He always will.
Lord, please show me the ways You are searching for my heart. Help me come out of hiding and experience Your healing, transforming love.
