Life Assurance

“I will put enmity between you and the woman . . . he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”

Genesis 3:15

In the garden of Eden, God foretold that a woman’s offspring (Jesus) would crush the Enemy’s head. Much later, when Jesus died and was raised again, His victory did that—and bought us freedom. Freedom from sin, freedom from death, and freedom to live unhindered by the Enemy. Yes, he still tries to harass us, but we have authority over him. We have power to defeat him because of Jesus living on the inside of us. “Greater is He who is in you, than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4 NASB).

I like to think of it this way: Jesus died to give you not only life insurance for when you die, but also life assurance here on earth today. You are free to walk through life here confident of His presence with you and His love for you. Free to be who He made you to be. Free to do all He created you to do. Even the freedom to unashamedly approach God and enjoy daily fellowship with Him.

Today, remember your freedom! And walk in it. It is yours, won by Jesus and given to you.

Praise to You, Lord Jesus, who defeated death on the cross! All praise to You, my Lord and Savior, for doing that because You love me.
