Take Time To Pray
Take Time To Pray
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:16–18
Countless women have asked me how I balance all I do. I certainly don’t have it all figured out, but I can tell you that prayer is indispensable.
You might feel you don’t have time for prayer, because “Oh my gosh, I have a zillion things to do today: drop the kids off at school, go to work, cook dinner” . . . and on the list grows. Believe me, I completely understand. I’d convinced myself that I didn’t have time to pray, until I discovered this one thing: prayer has no formal location or time-slot requirement!
Simply put, prayer is a way of life. It’s an attitude of God-consciousness and God-surrender that we carry all the time. Prayer is how we communicate with our Father, and it’s an opportunity for us to bring our gratitude, needs, and concerns before Him. So, I pray when I go for walks on the beach. I pray when I’m lying in the hammock. I pray as I walk around the house, getting ready for another trip. I pray on airplanes, in terminals, wherever I am! It’s an ongoing conversation, an attitude of my heart, a lifeline I can’t live without!
Lord, whenever an issue comes up in my day, no matter how big or how small, remind me to stop for a moment and talk to You about it. I do have time to pray!
