The True Message
The True Message
Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
Romans 10:17
We are blasted by media images telling us we are “not enough,” “too much,” or “not normal.” I can’t tell you how many creams I’ve bought over the years to reduce wrinkles—because apparently I’m never supposed to have them, even if I live to be 150 years old! But none of those intimidating images reflect who we truly are in Christ.
If we want to build our faith in God and who He says we are, then we need to turn down the volume of those voices and turn up the volume of God’s Word.
In today’s verse, the apostle Paul taught that hearing the truth of God’s Word is the source of faith, and hearing it over and over is how we sustain and encourage our faith (1 Timothy 4:6). So throw aside any distractions or messages that could disrupt your plans to study or hear God’s Word.
We are so blessed in this day and age. We have access to the Word in all shapes and forms. It’s at our fingertips! Let’s keep the Word before us. Let’s read it. Hear it. Discuss it. And just keep it going in our hearts and minds. Then God’s truth can drown out any untrue message.
God, Your Word is such a gift. Thank You for the privilege to study it and allow its truth to fill my soul and build my faith in You.
