What If?
What If?
“I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
John 10:10 NKJV
“What if?” That feeling of wondering what would have happened if we’d stepped out in faith and taken an opportunity—one that we now feel slipped through our fingers.
“What if?” That feeling God wants us to experience less and less.
God wants to help us grow in our courage. He wants to set us free from the fear that keeps us settling for a mere existence instead of living “more abundantly.” Yes, those of us with a bumpy past may crave normalcy, comfort, and predictability, but being open to taking risks—and even failing—is key to a richer relationship with God as we follow wherever He leads and go wherever He calls. Openness to risk is how we can become braver and live a more abundant life.
It isn’t easy to let go of what we know and exchange it for the great unknown. But let’s take the risk—together. Let’s find comfort in the truth that the unknown is completely known by the trustworthy God we are learning to trust more and more. He promises to go before you and be with you (Deuteronomy 31:8).
Lord God, I choose to live so that at the end of this earthly life I have no regrets. Grow my trust in You as I bravely take the risks ahead.
