Work In Progress
Work In Progress
[Be] strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father.
Colossians 1:11–12
I am so grateful for the healing grace and power God has poured into my life, yet I am well aware that I am still a work in progress. Growth this side of heaven goes on and on. And there is no shame in that.
My wounded heart that once sought comfort and validation in busyness, accomplishment, achievement, and perfectionism now finds peace in God and His perfection.
My hands that once held so tightly to the reins of control have loosened their death grip. I have learned to control less and to yield more to God’s guidance. My heart that was so full of fear, doubt, insecurity, low self-esteem, anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, and rejection has been softened. Many of its protective walls have been torn down, leaving more room inside for love, joy, peace, and patience. I’ve discovered that I was not created to bear shame because Jesus bore it for me.
I’ve been letting God rebuild my true identity as His beloved daughter, precious and redeemed. This is His will for me, and for you. Today, open yourself up to Him, and let Him continue the beautiful work in progress that is you.
Praise You, God! You don’t let me stay crippled by my past, but You grow me in the present for Your good plans for my future!
