Hospitality - Bible Promises for Moms

The Pharisees were scandalized when Jesus sat and ate with sinners. They understood that breaking bread together is the ultimate expression of friendship and intimacy. We are commanded to be hospitable to others, even as God has invited us to sit at His table. But here’s the thing. We live in a world poisoned by Pinterest and fractured by Facebook. We’ve believed the lie that hospitality has to look like Martha Stewart and our cooking has to match the Pioneer Woman. It’s a lie from the enemy who wants us to feel inadequate and incapable. Whether our hospitality is represented by a five-course meal and a private guesthouse next to the pool or a warm bowl of soup from the Instant Pot and a hide-a-bed sofa, it’s just as much an expression of hospitality to our guest. Don’t let the paralysis of perfectionism keep you from inviting people into your home and into your life. Share generously of what you have and love the people God places in your path. There’s a blessing in it!
