Restoration - He Holds My Hand
Restoration The work of restoration cannot begin until a problem is fully faced. Dan B. Allender I hear your cry for restoration. There was a time when your relationship with Me brought gladness. You lingered in My presence. You delighted in expressing your love for Me and in speaking words of hope to others. But now you have allowed your mind to return to former days, and you’re encumbered with thoughts of past abuse or hurts. That response has created distance between us. I haven’t moved, but you keep trying to soothe yourself with too much work, perfectionism, or escape into addictive patterns. I have heard your prayer: “Restore to me the joy of your salvation” (Psalm 51:12, ESV). The first step to restoration is to face your problem. What sin needs to be confessed? What abuse have you kept locked up inside, burdening you with false guilt? Ask Me to hold a magnifying glass to your heart and reveal what is placing a wedge between us. When you have identified the problem as sin, come to Me in repentance, and I will forgive you and make you whole again. Reject guilt over the wrongs done to you. I want you to be in spiritual alignment with Me so you can boldly proclaim, “He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake” (Psalm 23:3, ESV). I will restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. Welcome back! The God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 1 Peter 5:10, NIV
