Living A Fruitful Life
Lord, how does the Bible help me grow in my faith?
The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.
Isaiah 55:10-11
What is the spiritual fruit that results from being nourished by your Word?
The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in your life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.

What can I pray before I open your Word?
May I always be filled with the fruit of my salvation—the righteous character produced in my life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to you.

Reading the Bible grows your faith and nourishes your heart, even when you don’t feel it. God has given you his Word to bring about abundant life, fruitfulness, and spiritual maturity. It is a gift always ready to be received. Reflect on the times when God’s Word has been fruitful in your life. How can you put yourself in situations or around people who encourage you to grow in your knowledge of God’s Word?
