Meditation Moment: 1 Corinthians 1:10 - The One Year Mother-Daughter Devo
Meditation Moment: 1 Corinthians 1:10
I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose. 1 Corinthians 1:10
Did you know that church isn’t just a building that you go into on Sundays to learn more about God? The church really is about all the people around the world who love God and serve him with their whole hearts. Here in the United States, I’m part of the church—and so is a lady I’ve never met who loves Jesus all the way in Mongolia. The church is about people, not a building. So when you read today’s Scripture, you could replace the phrase “the church” with “followers of Jesus everywhere.”
God doesn’t want us to just express love to the Christians in our own church or family. He wants his followers all over the world to be united in their love for him and each other.
Now that we’ve studied the verse above, it’s time for you to pray. Bow your head and then wait for God to show you a picture, story, thought, or idea that teaches you something from today’s Scripture. Write about it here or in a journal.
