A New Egg

Most people have heard the nursery rhyme as a child: “Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall. Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the king’s horses and all the king’s men couldn’t put Humpty together again.” For too many of us, this has become less childhood fantasy and more like a prophecy.

We feel fatally flawed. We’re born fragile eggs. We’re fated to sit on narrow walls and to have great falls. We’re destined to remain forever broken.

This is the other extreme in how we see our weaknesses. Some people ignore their weaknesses; others use them as an excuse to give up on ever trying to put the broken pieces back together.

But there’s a difference between Humpty Dumpty’s king and the King of heaven. The King of heaven created you. And no matter how fragile you are or how great your fall, He can re-create you.

Slowly but surely, He’ll put you together again.
