His Words
His Words
His words matter. They are God’s intimate communication with us and for us.
His words are not simply a dry, ancient set of rules sent to place us under a condemning eye. His words are living. They’re the very essence of God Himself, the source of life. His words are personal. His Word is a person—Jesus, the Son of God.
His words are as complex, simple, encouraging, mysterious, and convicting as any fully drawn person would be. His words speak to our deepest needs. They understand our weaknesses and call us to know God’s strengths.
His words declare what’s wrong—all the weakness, violence, and despair. But His words also point us to how to make it right—calling us out of our self-destruction and into a new dawn of joy and rest.
As God’s communication to man, His words connect to us on every level, just as God Himself does.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. . . . In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. —John 1:1, 4
