Modeling Others

Modeling Others

Have you ever played tennis and found yourself facing someone with a lightning-fast serve and a wicked volley? Most of us won’t play someone much better than we are; it’s no fun to have your pants beaten off every time you play.

If you’re playing just for recreation and exercise, it’s fine to only play others at or below your skill level. But if part of your goal is to become a better tennis player, matching your athletic wits against the local club pro is probably in your best interest.

Once you discover and start walking in your life’s purpose, the next step is to place yourself under the tutelage of those who share a similar purpose, but are farther down the road in their journey.

You may get your pants beaten off, but you’ll become a much better player.

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

Proverbs 27:17
