The Bonds Of Promise

The Bonds of Promise

Sadly, families suffer from the world’s idea of freedom. Marital unfaithfulness abounds. Fewer people are getting married at all. The freedom to choose who you’re with has become more important than sticking it out for a lifetime.

This desire to be free creates more bondage still. Second and third marriages fail much quicker. Unmarried couples rarely stay together long. Children know little more than brokenness and continue the pattern.

In marriage and in all things, the life that matters is usually the opposite of your carnal instincts. The bonds of promise are the only thing that will ever free you from the consequences of self-destructive desire.

But no matter where your choices or the choices of others have left you, the freedom of lifelong promise can still be yours. You need to believe that this is where your freedom lies and trust that God can make you whole again.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” —John 8:36
