The Seed

The Seed

Living for what matters must start with a seed, an idea. It starts with understanding who you are and what your purpose is and knowing that you have some growing up to do.

In one sense, the seed is your vision for what lies ahead. Vision provides us with the needed courage and sense of direction to venture out into the unknown. Vision offers the promise that our growth will have a purpose, that it won’t be wasted.

But as with any journey, where you start is not where you finish. The ideas you have about yourself and where you’re going will most likely transform into something entirely different in the end.

The purpose of any seed is to die to itself, to grow up, and to bear life-giving fruit.

What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. —1 Corinthians 15:36–37
