Beautiful Word Devotional #248

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory . . . for ever and ever! Amen.

Ephesians 3:20–21

God’s ways can far exceed our wildest expectations. We easily forget this, though, and ask him for smaller, ordinary things. Yet God calls us to a great adventure!—God supplies greater answers to prayer than we ever expected.

How can this be? Paul explained that it’s the power of God that works within us. His Holy Spirit lives and breathes and walks with us throughout our lives. He gives us his power so, in his strength, we can do great things.

Yes, life is hard. But even when we are in difficult places, let’s remember to dream. Let’s keep our vision for what God can do broad and far-reaching. The Gospels show us just how astounding God’s work can be. Jesus raised people from the dead, enabled the blind to see, freed the lame to dance, and gave dignity to the poor. Our prayers can unleash the limitless power of God!

Lord, enlarge my dreams for your kingdom. I know you will answer in powerful and amazing ways, amen.
