Beautiful Word Devotional #294

To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy . . . be glory, majesty, power and authority.

JUDE Vv. 24–25

Jude poured a lot of solid theology and godly wisdom into these thirty words!

First, God is “able to keep you from stumbling,” from tripping on erroneous teaching and falling into sin and away from your faith in Jesus. God does this through his Holy Spirit, who lives within you as Teacher, Guide, and Helper. The Spirit is with you no matter what temptation you face, whatever decisions you need to make, and whatever paths you need to choose from.

Second, Jude also taught that God will usher you into the presence of his glory, where you will praise him for eternity just as Jude praised him in these two verses. Jesus’ saving work on the cross—his work of love—understandably prompts our worship and great joy.

Lord, thank you for the salvation you provided through Jesus Christ and the gift of the Spirit that I may honor you with my life. I’m grateful, amen.
