Beautiful Word Devotional #313

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

Psalm 32:8

Are you someone who wants to know what’s next in life? Many of us don’t like living with question marks; we crave certainty; we’d love to know where God is taking us. This verse promises that God will lead us, it promises his counsel and love, but it doesn’t give us an itinerary.

Knowing the path God has for your life comes only with being in relationship with him. Saying, “I will,” God promises to teach us and counsel us in the way we should go, and he will lovingly keep his eye on us to keep us walking in the right direction.

If you’re confused about what’s next in your life, if you desperately need to know what to do, listen for God’s instruction. That may mean prayer, journaling, a time of waiting, and/or counsel from those who know you and know God.

Remember, though, that God says, “I will.”

Lord, thank you that you want to tell me where you want me, that I don’t have to guess. Please help me hear you and obey, amen.
