Beautiful Word Devotional #363
God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
John 3:17
Grace is hard to come by in the natural world these days. Perhaps you have experienced harsh judgment and haughty condemnation from all sorts of people who are “right.”
Jesus had a different approach when he came to earth. His mission was to save the world, not condemn it. Jesus left heaven to mingle with us: he chose to dirty himself with our human limitations—and he lived the perfect, sin-free life that we can’t. Furthermore, Jesus sought the outcasts, he healed lepers, he gave eyesight to the blind, he forgave people’s sins—all this to show us God’s grace.
And because of God’s grace, you can go before him, confess your sin, be forgiven, and enjoy a relationship with him. Jesus allowed his shoulders to be weighed down with your sins so you could have access to God.
What a beautiful gift of grace!
Lord, I’m so grateful that you took my sin upon yourself so I could experience your grace. Help me to tell the people in my life about this grace and invite them to receive it, amen.
