Beautiful Word Devotional #65

The cloud of the LORD was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the Israelites during all their travels.

Exodus 40:38

What an encouragement these tangible signs of God’s presence must have been to the Israelites! Whether it was the cloud resting over the tabernacle during the day or the fire at night, the Israelites were constantly reminded of God’s presence. And wherever the people traveled, taking with them the tabernacle, this evidence of God’s presence accompanied them.

Today we see evidence of God’s presence with us when we spend time with his people who are tabernacles of God. You may know fellow believers who overflow with God’s love, who are sure sources of God’s wisdom, who choose joy in the Lord that is contagious, or who have an amazing heart and giftedness for prayer. What an encouragement these people are.

And what an encouragement you can be to others as well, for you are also a tabernacle of God. He is present within you.

No matter where you travel, God is with you.

Lord, I’m grateful that you are present within me. Use me, Spirit, to draw people to God’s love and his kingdom. I love you, amen.
